HOW TO GET TO AEOLIAN ISLANDS 

Ferries to the islands are operated by SNAV (00 39 081 428 5111; www.snav.it) from Naples; Siremar (00 39 090 928 3242; www.siremar.it) from Milazzo; and Usticalines (00 39 090 924 9199; www.usticalines.it), from Milazzo and Palermo. Between October and April, strong winds and high seas play havoc with ferry schedules and many hotels and restaurants are closed.

HOW TO GET TO EGADI ISLANDS

favignana is 6 miles away from the western coast of Sicily. Ferries and hydrofoils leave from Trapani’s harbor (25 minutes). From June to September hydrofoils leave also from Naples (4.5 hours) and Marsala (30 minutes).
Palermo and Trapani are the closest airports. From the airports you can reach Trapani’s harbor by bus, taxi or shuttle services. These latter are particularly convenient since the take you directly from the airport to the house on the island (including the hydrofoil ticket).
Ferries and hydrofoils
Companies Siremar and Ustica Lines offer ferries and hydrofoils services from Trapani’s harbor to the islands (25 minutes). From June to September hydrofoils leave also from Naples (4.5 hours) and Marsala (25 minutes).
